Frank's Floorshow Shoe
Last Updated: 6/3/2009
Provenance:
The shoe was auctioned off and won by Alan Hiero, who ran the original Rocky Horror Shop. It, with the other items in the Shop collection, went to Betzi Vojtko when she took over Rocky Horror Shop Talk. The current owner acquired the shoe from her.
-
Right side view. Note all the glue spots where rhinestones have fallen off. The vamp of the shoe is scalloped, and the heel cup flares up.
-
Shoe seen from the front.
-
Left side view. Note the orange sequin, and the fact that not all the rhinestones are the same size. When I was looking at the shoe in person, I couldn't tell if this was a sequin or a glue spot with remnants of paint. I asked the owner, who sent
this photo.

Shoe seen from the back
-
The rhinestone buckle. It's a bit of a mess after all these years; the strap has broken and several stones are missing.
-
Shoe insole, with autograph.
-
Terry de Havilland imprint on the insole. At least as far as I can tell, Terry de Havilland no longer makes the shoes in this model.
-
Left side of platform, detail. A gore has been inserted to make the shoe fit better; you can see where the leather was cut and elastic inserted. We don't know if this was done for Tim or if someone else wore the shoes on stage; it's likely it was tim. Good view of differently-sized rhinestones.
-
Right side of platform, detail. Nice view of the scallops. Shoe is gored on this side too. Clear view of the texture of the satin.
-
Vamp of shoe, detail. Nice view of the scallops, both over the toes and the instep. More differently sized rhinestones.
-
Buckle, detail. Closeup of the buckle and the mess used to hold the shoe together after the strap broke.
