These costumes were purchased by a friend and came with a bunch of supporting materials - it appears that the original costume sketches by Sue Blane were used, but some of the items are very different - for example, there's a big rosette on Frank's floorshow red corset, which no one would mistake for the film version; Magenta's panties are shot through with Lurex, and the seams are totally different on Rocky's shorts.

So yes, these costumes are NOT FROM THE MOVIE. They are from the 1980-1981 North American tour. They are posted here because I feel people may find some useful construction tips here (I can't take Rocky's shorts at the Hard Rock out from behind the glass...). Please note that Sue Blane didn't make these; a local costumes shop did (Michael-Jon Costumes in NYC; they still exist today); their tag can be seen in some of the costumes.

Rocky's Shorts

Rocky shorts, front, laid out flat. Note that there's no crotch seam; the side straps ("epaulets") are sewn down; and that the "R" rhinestones are all one color. ds

Frank's Underwear The Frank costumes were in great shape as they were for an understudy and were barely worn.
